Many families suffer from food insecurity and do not get their basic needs met.  14.4% of West Virginians live in persistent poverty, and approximately 16.8% of West Virginians are considered impoverished. 

My platform gives me a voice to not only share this need but, to inspire others to get involved and make a difference. 

Working with my local communities and the never-ending connections through social media we can raise money to help local food banks, host coat drives for winter and toy drives for Christmas. 

No matter how difficult it can be to imagine hungry children or families struggling, raising awareness of the problem can help so many. 

It takes one small act of kindness to impact generations to come.
