Smart Heart Healthy Heart is my platform. I have been battling a heart condition for the last 4 years without a definite diagnosis; I want to continue to educate others on the importance of being smart about their heart health. It is important to know one's family history for heart disease, to know cholesterol levels and risk factors. Heart disease causes 1 in 3 deaths of women each year. I want to be involved with the American Heart Association, the Go Red for Women campaign and to encourage women to take control of their health. My parents have a significant cardiac history, I may not be able to outrun my family history but I can out live it.
