I am passionate about service, and because representation matters, I have a particular focus on efforts as a public speaker, educator, mentor, leader and advocate to increase Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in science and medicine to diversify the healthcare workforce. There are many ways through which I do this work, primarily, I seek to offer access to opportunities for young people to explore, spark interest and see what’s possible and to introduce and foster mentoring relationships between under-represented individuals at all levels to create pathways to success in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and medicine.
