Addison Shaw

Addison Shaw is honored to be your Miss Junior Teen United States - 2023. It is an amazing dream come true. She hails from the great state of Mississippi, where she is currently finishing 8th grade. Addison is a member of her school’s volleyball team and winter guard squad. She also sits first chair as a flutist for their band and is a current member of the National Junior Honor Society.  She has competed in pageantry since 2019 and loves the sisterhood and friendships it brings.

Addison created Community Crowns, LLC as a way to serve the crowns of our communities, the elderly residing in long term care facilities. Growing up as a nurse’s daughter and surrounded by nurses in her family she has spent her life inside the walls of the nursing home and has seen firsthand the loneliness and sadness living in a facility can bring. She knew she could help bring a little happiness to others and she started her campaign at age 9 to make it happen. Aside from weekly visits, she sponsors a Rose Day on Valentine’s Day where she hand delivers roses to each resident. She also partners with local businesses for the needs of the residents and sponsors several drives and fundraisers throughout the year to help with her campaign. She is an avid volunteer in her community and has consistently logged over 100+ volunteer hours every year since 2019.

Addison’s hope for this year is to travel the country and visit as many long term care facilities as possible. With over 1 million people currently residing in these facilities, how amazing would it be to bring a smile to even just a portion of that number? She is currently working to bring recognition to her platform by creating National Visit a Nursing Home day and is hoping to get this passed as a Nationally recognized day during her reign. She wants everyone to know that just by spending a few minutes visiting with the elderly at your local nursing home, you could completely make someone’s day!
